Anyone flying into the UK from Argentina in the next few months??I know this is in the wrong forum area...but I can't find South america...it appears to have disappeared? This is a long-shot (and even longer considering it's posted in the wrong place) but thought it might be worth asking.......basically, I was living in Buenos Aires for 2 months and was planning on being there until June, I was renting a room in a shared apartment, but in December I flew home for Christmas and New Year for 2 weeks...but since I've been back in the UK I've had a pretty amazing job offer, which was totally unexpected, that I am going to take. I start in a week, so there's no going back to Argentina for me..problem is I left some stuff there when i left, mainly clothes and books, but they are all my favourite clothes :( they are 2 small back-pack sized bags and I really need them! Sending stuff from Argentina by mail is an absolute nightmare and takes a ridiculously long time so my question is....is anyone who's flying to the UK in the next month or 2 willing to pick them up from my apartment in Palermo and bring them back? I will pay you obviously, and can meet you at the airport to pick them up. I know this might sound pretty dodgy!! But there really is nothing illegal involved here. they are just my clothes. You are free to inspect them all before you take them! Let me know if anyone can help me out :)

1I would recommend posting this on an expat forum for Argentina.

3I had no problem shipping a box of souvenirs and guidebooks home from Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, in 2010. They were shipped to the USA. I don't know about the UK mail system. You would need to find someone willing to take your bags to the post office.

4I shipped by mail out of Argentina and found it relatively effortless--no more difficult than shipping from the US, Canada or Europe. Don't quite know why you describe it in such dire terms.
Air freight is always a possibility. Google Dakar Motos in B.A. and talk to Sandra--she facilitates motorcycle shipments for a lot of overland riders and will have some ideas.
Hope that's helpful.

5I'm not sure I'd trust using the regular postal system in Argentina. Courier post is safer. But depending on the weight and volume, that could be costly!
If you want to do this cheaply, I would recommend taking a peek at the website "couchsurfing". The Buenos Aires group is very active and you should have a fairly good chance of finding someone who can help you out!
