ray, i don't do smart (i refuse to have a phone that can outthink me) and i don't do contract.but when travelling internationally, there's no way i'm going to pay roaming. also, if you're trying to get locals to call you (booking offices, hotels, etc), they're more likely to do so if you have a local number.
