Duales or CT cards in Cuba?

Is anyone from the US using the Duales or Caribbean Transfer charge cards in Cuba these days? Does CT still exist? We read aout the allegations... Thanks folks, we could use your advice here....

Last I heard, the CT site was not accepting anything. (And on Trip Advisor, there was a guy who sent funds to a CT card in October and two months later was still chasing).

For sending to Cubans, I use www.aisremesascuba.com - I don't know if that can be set up for a visitor.

I did get an email from 123envialo about the current Cubacel offer, but nothing on the site about sending $$. ...I use aisremesas instead for $$ and it's working well as usual.

I had some problems with aisremesascuba when I was trying to send transfers to several people, and it wouldn't let me. And one time it said that a transfer had failed, and then a day later it appeared as processed.

dmacarthur: I have found Western Union to be the simplest way to send money from the US to Cuba. We have Western Union locations all over FL, several within a 10 minute drive from my house but cannot remember where you are.

dmacarthur: I am the wrong one to ask as I still believe in carrying 100 Euro notes stashed in several different places.

Ah yes Bob, and I have always done that as well but I must admit that last year it was nice to walk up to the cadeca on 23 and withdraw money as needed- sort of not really Cuban but.....

I realise that might last post sounds negative. Just to add that I use AISremesas a lot - so to have a couple of glitches is a fairly good hit rate. And all was OK with patience.

But - has anybody been able to arrange to use one of these cards as a foreigner ?

heres what 123envialo told me on 12/5/12 when i asked them about the CT Card
"No, unfortunately we cannot provide that service anymore. We are only
allowed to provide remittances for Cuban citizens."

I wonder if they have sorted out the money that had gone missing in transit as per someone on Trip Advisor.
