Need access to a heavy winter coat at Incheon for Seoul day-long transit
Doing LAX-Seoul(Incheon)-SE Asia at the end of the month with an 15 hour layover in ICN so I would like to get out into Seoul. Obviously with 20-25 F or -8 C temperatures, the light rain jacket which I was planning to carry, will simply not do. I am trying hard not to carry a huge winter coat to Thailand and other boiling hot countries where it will simply be lugged around and encumber my mobility. I am not returning via ICN.Sure I can always throw away the coat at ICN if I leave with it from LAX or buy it there in ICN, but that is neither sensible nor economical. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas cuz I ain't got no mo.

I'd actually go with layers. Have various sized clothes accessible in your hand luggage/carry-on and at least two with long sleeves and some type of heat/hood.Layers are usually more effective tan big heavy things anyway, as you can vary them as you need, and they trap warm air in between the layers.
It will depend a bit on the weather of the day, but I found Seoul in winter mostly dry-cold.

Just bring a light Gortex type of Jacket , this will keep the wind out and have a cheap long sleeved thermal top and a light fleece , along with a cheap throw away set of thermal hat and gloves you should be fine ..I brought similar with me for the Indian Himalayas last January and it was more or less perfect ...
I also found the Gortex Jacket great during Monsoon downpours later on in South East Asia ...
So it's just a case of leaving the cheap thermal stuff in Seoul as somebody else mentioned with somebody who needs it , just because South Korea is an affluent Country , there are still people who are poor and would welcome such Winter clothing , you should be able to donate what you don't need via a local charity ...

CMBurns has a good idea, buy a thriftstore coat at home and give it to someone. In fact, the best way for you to/from Seoul and the airport is to take the AREX. It travels between the airport and Seoul Station. Around Seoul Station, there are quite a few homeless people (hard to miss, though they mostly keep to themselves). So, give your coat to one of these guys and hop on your train.
