230Looks like the Search doesnt work. I've searched for "Japanese encephalitis", "encephalitis", "japanese", "vaccine", and even "hello". All searches I do return the following: "Sorry, we couldn't find anything about: japanese."
Im really disappointed to what happened to this forum. Couldnt have happened at a worse time for me as Im getting ready to embark on a year long trip.

Google is traveller's galore. To start with use wiki travel instead.
btw - you don't need any vaccines for Japan.

234@Fieldgate - yeah, I do have other resources but prior to Thorntree's holiday suspension most of my answers could be found in one easy spot by searching the older posts.
Im not going to Japan but it appears they exported their own special strain of encephalitis to pretty much all of SE Asia. I was trying to find where I might be able to get the vaccine in Indonesia.

235How do you disable the automatic hyper-links applied to common names when posting a message? Very irritating espeically when your word is automatically hyper-linked to something unrelated.
For example, I recently mentioned Alaska referring to the airline, but it was automatically hyper-linked to the state of Alaska website.

236A whole bunch of old posts have suddenly appeared towards the top of my "recently replied" sort of the USA branch. Examining the posts shows last replies are considerably older than today's date. Could these please be shifted back in time to match reality? Thank you.

239I, for one, have virtually given up on Thorn Tree and, since it came back after the purge, have only visited twice (this being the second). The other time my seemingly innocuous reply as to how I solved a problem was not posted - and nothing was offensive in it.
Personally, life is too short and I'm too busy to muck about. If mods had been doing their job, they would have picked up offending posts and deleted them..
It's not just a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, it's a case of burning down the stable and neutering the horse.
I expect this won't be posted on TT bu feel the purge has destroyed a great website.
