Since LP regularly sends us emails advertising their products and conducting surveys, I do not understand why they did not (and still do not) send updates regarding the ThornTree situation. They clearly have the capacity to do so and many of the questions being asked here would already have been answered.

There was quite a bit about it on the web-press, re: closing down without notice. A lot of reports reckon T.T.'ers went on other sites airing their anger. I only saw a few moaning snippets on Trip Advisor and they didn't really have any clout.

It's going to take me a while to get an answer for you lucapal.

I'm trying to get an answer on private messaging first (and then search, and then post counts, and then dates on threads).

Hope that's okay?

In response to when other destination branches will come online. We're working through a pretty big backlog around the clock. If we could give you dates, we would. As soon as we're confident that they meet our standards we'll be bringing them back.

Texas Tea - I agree. given the post are pre-moderated (and seem to be re-moderated sometimes) I don't see why email notifications have ceased.

LP is still sending Traveller's Pulse emails and, on a tangent, I think the results of the latest survey might be a surprise, if not a shock, to them.

Thorn tree forums don't work on my smartphone at all. (Samsung Galaxy Ace). When I select a forum it takes ages to take me back to the same page where I tried to make my selection. i never get to see any posts in the branches ... except for community FAQ.

Then the layout is just not workable. Already mentioned in previous post by Blackberry user.

i suspect it is because the site is just working so, so slowly. It isn't usable any longer

I'm not sure about post count. My archived posts have gone from minus 9000+ to minus 21000+.

It certainly is, isn't it? Hopefully the stragglers who have nothing better to do might just wander off soon, now that Community FAQ's will be getting less responses as the proper travel threads are reappearing.
Moderators, you're letting the likes of scoodly and megaera throw false accusations. I'm not bothered personally, but with people like this about they could say the wrong thing to the wrong person and T.T. could be front page headlines for all the wrong reasons for the 2nd time in a month. Seems you're slacking already on your re-launch promises.
I have no idea what or who a battybilly is, but it seems these two posters have pointed their waggly fingers at me, with the very personal attacks you said you would not allow.
Both posters are both rude and full of defamatory comments.
Quoting @#357, it seems you have big problems (looking at your many other posts) enabling yourself to be patient. Community FAQ's, after barely a week, is reverting to how YC was three weeks ago already.
Moderators, either take action, or lose T.T. forever.

It's good that Katija is providing some feedback, but give that we are supposed to be scrutinised before the post appears, I was surprised to find it necessary to report advertising on the UK branch a couple of days ago - presumably it passed the politeness test??

I understand the need for the cleansing, but this purge seems pretty extreme, and seems to be taking quite a long time to sort out!

considering that 99% of my old posts were totally travel-related, i don't understand how i can be listed as only having 37 posts. could katija - since you do seem to be the only person answering questions - please explain this to me?
