1. clicking on 'post new topic' on this branch results in a bounce back to forum homepage. (as with MTL)

2. canada branch: on the first page, two american questions. one about travel in New England, one about living in California. please move to US branch.

What MTL and sprite said about bouncebacks.

And what MTL and KazMom said about PMs.

And why is my recent posts thread showing posts from 219 weeks ago in the UK branch, which, when I click on it, has one post (not mine) about Croatia, which appears to be the only surviving part of a thread that has been deleted?

What megs said, except I don't have any recent threads whatsoever.

I could really do with being able to access my PMs and PM other people.

Looks like I was able to post, after a delay for (I suppose) moderation.

Mine was same as lucopal. Post in this thread appeared in Aussie branch. Posts in actual branches are fine, just take really long time to actually be accepted.

When I click "Post New Topic", I am returned to the Index Page.

I wanted to ask when the Mexico Branch would reopen, but I don't have anywhere but here to post it.

Since this has turned into a bug report thread, I'll add another one.

When you've finished writing a message and click the post button, and one or more words in your post are deemed as "inappropriate", it doesn't actually tell you which those words are. It just says "You have attempted to post content not permitted on Thorn Tree". If it's not obvious what you did wrong, that forces you to change one word at a time until your message posts.

I eventually found out that the word "ow" with a forward slash between the two letters is inappropriate, but managed to post by replacing it with "one way". (If anyone can tell me why that word is inappropriate, I'm curious to know!)

It is obviously an expression of pain following a swift blow to the head.....

Physical online violence will no longer be tolerated ;-)

agree that a 'naughty' list would be helpful. at one point a few years ago, a certain name was not allowed to be posted, but if you weren't posting at the time of the blowup that triggered that policy, you'd have no idea what was wrong.

Why do I get the feeling that we're posting here but not being listened to?

Hi all

We are listening. We don't have all the answers at the moment. Here's what I can tell you right now.

Profile problems: these should now be resolved. Please send us an email at community@lonelyplanet.com if you're still experiencing problems.

Dates on threads: this is a bug. We're working on it.

Private messaging: has been disabled for the time being.

Where is the insert branch name here: From Zabba's OP
+Q) Whoa! Where's (insert branch name)
We're launching with a limited archive that we'll be adding to over the next few weeks. If your chosen destination is not here then please check back in the coming days. So we'll be relaunching destinations as our checks are completed.+

When will insert branch name be back?: From Zabba's OP
+Q) Will all the branches that are currently missing come back?
Activities branches will follow soon - we're prioritising getting destinations branches back up and running, but haven't forgotten activity branches. If the branch you're looking for isn't here then please check back in the coming days.
We have reviewed our branches and wish to make sure they are as editorially relevant as possible. Some were not and in a few cases had contained some language and themes which were not in line with our overall standards and those will not relaunch. Your Choice also contained almost exclusively non-travel related conversations. In addition a few of the postings in the archive were incompatible with running the world's best travel forums, and it's time for us to call it a day.+

Posting new topics in Community FAQs: has been disabled for the time being.

We're working on getting the forum back up and running as quickly as possible and are trying to keep all the bug reports in one place, namely this thread.

Thanks for your patience. We know the situation is less than ideal, but we're working on it.

I'm not fussed about YC and WT was even worse for off topic posting (there were at least some travel threads on YC) but what about the cycling, food and wildlife branches? Or the Laos branch? I'm sorry I can't check every three minutes. Will it be another day, another week, several weeks? I just want to know if I should resort to another travel forum instead as my trip is looming.

Not really a bug, but the continued absence of some continent or country branches is regretful. LP has already sanitized the vast majority of content by deleting (or quarantining) much of the archived posts. Can I suggest to bring back all country branches ASAP, if necessary only with a history going back a few weeks, so that people at least can post new questions?

As for weeding out the huge TT archive and putting it back online: Many users seemed too lazy to ever search the archive, but I still feel it would be a shame to let it die. The wealth of information there was impressive. Libraries don't throw away books just because they are not popular. Please bring the archive back, all the way to whatever it was (2005? 2006?).

If "Your Choice" was the source of all this trouble, good riddance. I never even looked inside that branch and surely won't miss it.

Laos is a sub branch on SE Asia Mainland but we need complete branches, especially more Asian ones, to reopen asap.
