Granada TEFL Training

Hi, I'm looking into doing a TEFL course at Granada's TEFL training centre in spain combined with their Spanish Course. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the Granada TEFL training courses or if anyone has been trained up here as an ESOL teacher as I can't find any reviews on the internet! The course is 1,472 Euro for an 8 week combined TESOL and Spanish course so obviously I want to know this is an accredited institute before paying the fees. I will be greattful for any opinions from those who have friends who have trained here or have themselves. Furthermore, if you have done TEFL training anywhere in Spain and recommend the centre you trained at I would appreciate hearing about it. At the moment I'm thinking Granada because its in the heat of the south and I love the sound of the arabic influence there and it being typically Spanish, but, if the institute doesn't have a good rep, then I'm open to other suggestions. Many Thanks.

TEFL training and Spanish language courses at the same time? You don't see any issue with dividing your time and effort like that?

It's an 8 week course. They claim to be have CELTA-equivalent standards, for which most establishments produce in 4 weeks.

The TEFL training part of the course does only take 4 weeks, and then its 4 weeks either before or after studying Spanish. Sorry, I should have made this clearer. So thankfully, I won't be studying one alongside the other, otherwise yes, I would find it very difficult! Thanks for your words.

In general the course does look like it covers a good range of the things the better-known courses (CELTA/Trinity) cover.
The only potential problem I can see if the lack of accreditation by anyone external, which will effect employment in some schools/regions.

Just wondering if you could give an update - did you enroll in the TEFL/Language course? I'm curious about this program, so any info/feedback would be excellent!

Thanks!

I've also been investigating the TEFL International course in Granada but in the end enrolled on a CELTA course there. It's new in Granada but I prefer a well known and recognised qualification, don't want any prolems with employment later (CELTA means Cambrige accredited) . I'm doing it this May as it's a special offer. Good luck with your search!

I didn't enrol anywhere in Granada in the end, I'll be starting the CELTA at CLIC in Seville in 2 weeks so can let you know how that one goes. It's meant to be a good one! Enjoy your CELTA in Granada, wish I'd found that earlier!
