Pre paid Mobile sim cards
+Just wanting to know what is the best pre paid sim card to use throughout Europe? We are taking our mobiles but do not want use our plans in fear of returning home to a massive bill. And is it easy to connect up+?1
Have you already done a forum search? This is one of the FAQs. Besides that, it's hard to answer this question without knowing what you mean by "the best" pre paid sim card - what are you going to use itfor? Also, Europe is not a country. Please be specific as to which country/countries you plan to visit. There are no European sim cards.

If it's a smartphone, remove the sim card and use Skype via wifi points - there are gazillions of free wifi points around Europe.3
There is no 'best' sim card for roaming in Europe. One you cross a border any 'free' minutes or data will stop and you will have to buy a new plan. No sim in one country offers discounts or freebies in another as far as I am aware. Check with your regular (at home) provider as to how much bolt-ons are. They might work out cheaper than continuously buying separate sims and forever topping up.4
I have begun using viber (viber dot com) and it is a (almost) free service.Caveat 1: If you have access to wifi, sending and receiving is always free (you can use your phone in another country by disabling your SIM first, and enabling wifi).
Caveat 2: If you use a local sim card for the country you are in, it's free.
Caveat 3: if you use your own sim on roaming, it's NOT free.
So go with 1 or 2.
Good luck!

I used http://ekit.com to get a travel sim and http://unlockscodes.com/ to unlock my phone which you will need to do if your phone isn't unlocked
