Travelling by car from georgetown to belem (Para)

Are there ferrys to cross from french guyana to Brasil and from Macapa to Belem?

Used to be ferries across the border to Brazil, but maybe the bridge has opened by now. If not, the ferries are surely still running.

Macapa to Belem no ferries: riverboats or barges, your choice.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the information. you travelled through the guianas on a motorcycle, didn't you?
I planning a trip for June next year from Caracas to Rio through the guianas. I have a jeep 4-cylinders with 31" tires. Did you have problems with the road (big mud areas)? sometimes I think of getting bigger tires 33"; But I not sure if I really need them? Any comments?

Mark, The barge you're talking about between Macapa and Belem carries cars? Can you stop at Ilha de Marajo? Can you drive through the island? Do you know how much they charge per vehicle/ Thanks
