Layover of 19 hours in Dublin Ireland

We have a 19 hour layover in Ireland between France and US. Is that enough time to get out of the airport and do something? Will we have to go through customs? we are US citizens.

19 hours is plenty of time to do a good bit of sightseeing around Dublin. I don't know about the customs and immigration situation though.

Plenty of time.

Since you enter the country, you do need to go through immigration (passport check) and customs (baggage check). You won't need a visa for Ireland, though.

Plenty of time to see some of the sights in Dublin.....there is a very regular air coach bus service into city centre.....only about 20 minutes into city centre. Plenty of tourist attractions within walking distance or short bus trips...depending on your interests, Dublin Castle, Trinity College and Book of Kells, Croke Park Stadium & Museum (home to the traditional irish sports...hurling & Gaelic Football, and of course the Guiness Storehouse.....a few of these could easily be done in your timeframe

Hopefully, your baggage will be booked straight through. If this is the case you'll only need a carry-on that contains what you'll need for those 19 hours, you won't have to wait at the baggage carousel and you can skimp a little on your check-in time (or go straight through immigration without checking-in?) on the way back.
But what are those hours? Daytime is a little different from 3-4.00am.

Won't this be overnight? So you'll need a hotel? Or you were planning to stay at the airport all night? Old post, I doubt we'll hear from OP again. Posted in the wrong branch too.
