Billabong Pro 2013 :: Rio de Janeiro
Hello.I just bought the airplanes tickets to Rio for May 2013. First I wanted to go in February for my birthday (but not for the carnival beacuase it's so much expensive), but then I realized that the surf competition Billabong Pro ( http://wctbrasil.com/rio12 ). Finally my 8 years old son and I are going to Rio. I prefered to stay in Ipanema, because I find it more paceful for me and my child.
I've looking for information and I found this Ceh Lagarto Hostel. Have you been there? What kind of things should I do with my son there?
I don't know anything for sure (besides we already have the tickets), would you be that kind to tell me something for our trip?

1- Che Lagarto – have you been there? My son in law goes for bodyboard competitions and his friends from abroad use to stay at Che Lagarto. He told me that it's nice to be there. You can search for Che Lagarto on Tripadvisor, too. There are more than one hundred comments going from love to hate.2-What kind of things should I do with my son there? The place seems to be suitable for young adults, not for kids. Maybe I'm wrong, you have to check by yourself. My grandson of 15 and my granddaughter of 9 live with me because they have space, friends and freedom. I think that this is all the kids want.
3- I was told Billabong is going to happen in Barra da Tijuca. You should consider to stay there too.

Hi WendyFirst i want to confirm what silbley wrote, Billabong 2013 is confirmed in Barra da Tijuca in May. I still dont know exactly the days, but if you want, i´ll be abble to confirm you in a day or two.
I dont know exactly whats your price range for those holidays, as far as accommodation is concerned, but if you should consider stayng in Barra da Tijuca. Wonderfull beaches, and much more peacefull than Ipanema or Copacabana.
Plus i can tell you for sure that all the surfers involved will be staying in Royalty Barra Hotel.
It is a 4 stars Hotel ,10 meters from the beach, with a good infrastructure, such as Swimming Pool, Fitness Center. Check the website.
