Welcome, If you really only wish to spend only a day in Luxor then you don't need a tour company. You can handle the logisitcs yourself and once in Luxor go where you wish to go on your own.Of course, in a day you won't see much, but I guess you know your priorities.
Good luck.

You realize you'll be flying, right? You also realize that just the main attractions of Luxor would occupy many days?-
To make it at all worth your while, an early flight from Sharm and two nights in Luxor would make sense, with a late-afternoon return flight from Luxor on the third day. In that short time, I'd stay on the West Bank near the public ferry landing, and on arrival, go across to the Museum, see Karnak in the afternoon, eat supper, then go to Luxor Temple in the evening. The next day, hire a taxi, going to the Temple of Ramses III first thing, then Hatshepsut, then the Valley of the Kings. Next day, see whatever you missed on the West Bank on the second day (Valley of the Queens, Tombs of the Nobles., Rammeseum, Seti I, etc.) before flying back to Sharm.

All of the things you mention are on the West Bank, while Luxor City is on the East Bank. There is a public ferry that runs frequently and cheaply from the Corniche (riverbank) in front of Luxor Temple to the West Bank. There are also cheap water taxis.-
There are several good places to stay near the ferry landing on the West Bank. From any of them, you have the option of renting a bicycle to explore the West Bank, although it's a fair pedal to the Valley of the Kings or Queens. Another option is to hire a taxi for a half or full day, also quite inexpensive. The third and by far most expensive option is a guided tour.

IMHO, the best sites on the West Bank are Ramses III, Hatshepsut, and Deir el-Medina, along with a tomb or three in the Valley of the Kings. There are of course many others. Checking out a website like http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/westbank.htm will give you an idea.
