UAE Transit Visa for Non-approved Passport holdersHello,
Any Canadians (or non-approved passport holders) recently obtained a UAE transit visa?
If so, how long was it for? What were the restrictions? How much did it cost? and
How did you get it? i.e. what was the basic process?
Thanks in advance for your help!

1I've never obtained one, but I just wanted to let you know you don't need a transit visa if you are only transiting through Dubai airport to another destination within 24 hours and do not intend leaving the airport.
If you are intending to leave the airport, then the transit visa can be obtained on arrival at Dubai Airport if you are holding an onward ticket and the connecting time between flights is at least 8 hours. Transit visas usually allow a max 96 hours stay.

2Thanks much for your response and helpful info.
I forgot to add one detail to my initial post: I would be arriving in Dubai via ferry from Bandar Abbas, Iran and exiting Dubai by bus to Oman.
Do you know if it is possible to obtain a transit visa on arrival when arriving my boat as you would when arriving in the airport? If not, then what is the process?
