Patagonia March 2013Hi all!!
I've accumulated a bit of money and am ready to make my first backpacking adventure. Its not much and I'm scared of running out with months till my flight home, buy thatss just part of propper planning I imagine.
Anyway. I'll be arriving in Santiago the 1 of MARCH. I've made no reservations except for my first few nights in city, nor in refugios or busses. I'm completely open and prepared for however things turn out day to day (I'll have a tent and privations but hard to be 100% ready for anything).
I would love to visit the atacama with a car but I can't afford it . I am willing to chip in for a rental and gas if anyone is planning to do this around march.
Also... I am going solo but I am looking forward to meeting travelers on the way despite my shyness. Im totally up to buddy up from the get go though.
Is my planning too lax? Am up for a hazard full time?

4Haha. Thanks for the responses guys and yes Atacama is def not Patagonia. Lol. Thanks Tryfan. Might take you up on that couch Leo. And let me know where you were thinking of and maybe we can do a leg.
I was thinking about the same rout dreamer but I was trying to fly as little as possible and arriving at BA from NY I would have to stop in Santiago any way and the price was more expensive. But I too plan on finishing and departing from Lima. Maybe I'll see you there. N: )
