NRI - Visa help

My friend is an NRI and he wants to visit India for my sister’s wedding. Can he get a visa on arrival to enter India?

Hello,

For that, you need to tell your friend to obtain a "Tourist Visa-on-Arrival“ valid for 30 days for citizens of five countries viz. Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Singapore only. Other passport holders must obtain a visa before taking a flight to India.

You cannot obtain a visa on arrival in India, and immigration authorities will not permit any foreigner to enter the country.
It’s better to talk to your travel agent or any of the visa service provider that would guide you on the same.

Thanks,

He needs to take a few minutes (days or weeks in Indian time) and get an OCI card. No visa required and no maximum stay.

and immigration authorities will not permit any foreigner to enter the country.

He needn't worry about this. He won't be boarding the plane without a visa or OCI card.

Or PIO.

I think the VOA has expanded to 11 countries but the answer is the same, get a visa if he is in the US/UK..
