What visa is required for Oz to be able to work in Canada
Hi all,I'm just wondering how I can work there. I have a friend from Canada who's now working in Australia. She moved from Canada over 4 years ago. I'd like to do the same. I'm Australian citizen unfortunately never thought about it until I'm over 30 :-( I don't have dual (or more) citizenship. The company I work for also have offices in Canada but I don't see the job posting in my field come by often. I'm not married and don't have kids.
Anyone have any advise /insight? Thanks in advance. :-)

Go through this to see what your options may be:http://www.cic.gc.ca/app/ctcvac/english/index
Depends a lot on your occupation and whether you're considered an in-demand skilled worker.
Generally speaking, I'd say your best bet is to go through your current employer. Don't wait for a job posting to come up. Find out who the managers are at the office(s) you'd want to go to and send them an email expressing your interest now.

The Canadian immigration program is seemingly being modeled after the Australian system - so you should find it quite comfortable. There are work visa's available for people with skilled trades, and in addition to the federal program as suggested by tch7 there are provincial nominee programs. I think this is a general comment, if not it certainly is specific to the provience I live in - the PNP programs sponsor more people than the federal government. I understand that currently the #1 criteria for ease of entry is English or French language skill. You may also want to contact an immigration consultant - google search or PM me for help on that one.Good luck

hello,TCH7 is correct, you should check out the link he/she provided. one of the many possible programs you may find there is a brand new one announced yesterday which may be relevant to you. Here is yesterday's official CIC news release about the program: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2012/2012-12-10.asp
Good luck
