driving ouarzazte to agadir

We are driving Marrakech to Ouarzazte, dreading the pass but hoping the views override the fear!

But what is the drive like from Ouarzazte to Agadir?? Equally hairaising? Does it include the tiz n test pass? hoping not. But can't see where exactly that pass is.

Is it better to hire a car and drive yourself (plus hubby plus 2 boys) or put yourself in the hands of a local driver?

Thanks for all and any hints and tips

From Ouarzazate to Agadir it is very easy to go that way. But from Marrakech to Ouarzazate is not so easy but not so terrible. Nice way and road too, and that include Tizi-n-Tichka.
When do you think to travel? Now in the winter? It can be snow as I read now on one thread before.
But from Ouarzazate to Agadir - take N10 the whole way untill Agadir via Taroudannt and make stop there (in Taroudannt), nice city it is, worth to visit. That way not nclude the Tizi-n-test.

..... its different, the N10 through the Sous Valley mostly low and flat, travelling through Taznakht, Talouine, and Oulad Berhil just after (5km.) the turn for Tiz-n-Test, you'll just pass it, on through/to Tarroudannt, you are 80km. from Agadir.

After Talouine, 20km. out there's a second route (a left turn) travelling a little to the south, this road travels parallel with the N10 avoiding villages, its a more direct road converging again with the N10 just west of Taroudannt.

You can drive yourself easily, this is a soft drive, well signposted and marked, take the usual precautions as driving standards are not good in Morocco. You could take one of the frequent buses travelling that route.

You can easily take a comfortable CTM bus from Ouarzazate to Agadir from the new CTM bus station there. But, if you rent a car you will be able to stop wherever or whenever you like. Beautiful countryside whichever way you choose to travel.

Some photos of the Tichka (coming the other way). It's like mountain passes everywhere, so if you've driven in Switzerland it's not so unusual.

One the way to Agadir stop at Talouine which is the centre of saffron production in Morocco. Even if you are not planning to stop at Taroudannt have a 30 minute diverstion and drive all the way round the town walls which have recently been renovated.

Rent a car and drive yourselves. I sure would not use Grand Taxis, which often have reckless drivers. Or take Supratours or CTM buses.

..... yes and yes, as good as they get in Morocco, these drivers drive throughout Europe for the company, connecting many countries with Morocco.
