Need advice on good, chilled island destinations (like Pai, but coastal)
I travelled through Thailand last year, and fell in love with Pai - it was exactly the right mix of a laid back vibe, with bamboo hut hostels in rice fields overlooking the hills, but still with modern amenities (Internet, market, restaurants, a few bars if you wanted to go out) and a decent amount of backpackers travelling through to meet. The only thing that would have made it better was if it was coastal.I've got 2 weeks off coming up in January, and I'm looking to go somewhere similar but an island/coastal destination, but I've got no experience outside of Thailand.
Can anyone who has travelled through anywhere they loved recommend anywhere that fits the billing based on the above?
It can be literally anywhere in SE Asia, budget isn't a problem.
Cheers

Not been there myself but Phu Quoc gets a lot of good reviews.7
Otres Beach in Sihanoukville, Cambodia is pretty chilled, amazing beach, good island trips (you can stay on the islands too which are super chilled, especially Bamboo Island) It's a little small tho but you have SIhanoukville 10mins up the road.Somewhere else in Cambodia that's not coastal (but it's right on the river where you can swim) is Kampot. It's really laid back, good vibe there, my friend loved it as much as Pai (I've not been to Pai yet) but I LOVED Kampot. Stayed at Naga house which is usually full of great people, awesome staff, lots of fun.
