Ski/Board from Munich in Feb
HiApologies if I'm duplicating a question but cant find the exact answer i'm looking for.
I'm looking into a short break somewhere in Europe in mid-feb and was thinking Munich could be a good option, I was wondering how easy it is to do a day trip snow boarding (or skiing) from Munich and/or if it's possible to do a one night trip from there i.e. one night in Munich, then a night in the mountains
I am a beginning, but my partner is pretty good, so would need somewhere with easy enough slopes for me ... oh and to hire all equipment.
I think you can get trains places, but still unsure of complete timings/logistic
Any help would be greatly appreciated - or if I'd be better pickign another city, I'm flexible as havent booked any flights yet

If you want to land at Munich airport, you will probably go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, 2 1/2 hrs by train.Other airports and winter sport desitnations:
Memmingen airport: Oberstdorf (2 hrs by bus and train)
Innsbruck airport: Nordkette (3/4 hrs by bus and cableway)
Zurich airport: Wangs/Pizol (1 1/2 hrs by train and bus)
Bern airport: Zweisimmen (1 3/4 hrs by bus and train)
Geneva airport: St. Gervais (1 hr by bus)
Cuneo airport: Limone Piemonte (1 hr by taxi and train)
Nice airport: Isola 2000 (2 1/4 hrs by bus), Limone Piemonte (2 1/2 hrs by bus and train)

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is served at least hourly by train from Munich. Ski areas there are Zugspitze and Garmisch-Classic. The best deal to get from Munich (or Munich Airport) to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (and back) is a Bayern Ticket.DB timetable

Thanks for info, I'll look into options. I'm very open on where I go, so long as its good mid feb. I have also had Vienna suggested you, but not sure on ski options from there...Thanks again
