I shall spend time in Delhi over Christmas and New Year as well as Varasari, Agra, Jaipur and Amritsar. Having been to Hoi An I think, it was years ago in Vietnam I know there are taylor shops where you can measured up and quality clothes made for local prices. Does the same kind of thing happen in Delhi and if so whereabouts.
I've researched the usual sites to see and pre booked trains and some accommodation. Anything unusual in any of the places worth seeing or any other tips / advice is welcome.

1"Does the same kind of thing happen in Delhi" - not really, but , yes there are tailor shops around.
"Anything unusual in any of the places worth seeing " - most fascinating unusual place for mine is Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib- it is a Sikh temple and is located right next to the very interesting Chadni Chowk markets. The temple is open to all, and includes a kind of bakery and dining area for the poor and for disciples.

2Walk Chandi chowk for sure and explore all the markets foff the street too. Gof to Old Delhi near the mosque, go out to Nazamiddin on tThursday evening to the sufi temple. Last time I took the metro out to the ruins of a moghul palace. There is a book by the author of The White Moghul about hidden Delhi....just walk
