Yes Arie, the snow zone came from the south indeed. Mr A was due to drive to Paris for professional reasons today but he has postponed the trip.
It is expected that it will continue snowing for the rest of the day and the following night. It is a fine dusty snow, no big flakes.
We are also experiencing an uncommon situation. Right now it is colder in the west, north and centre of the country compared to the east and south where are the hilly Ardennes, which usually is the coldest region of the country.

sidenote: this move at any case more confident than the fast train Fyra

LOL, hope they will bring back the good old IC train.

This morning when I got up there was snow everywhere and big, wet flakes falling. But it stopped around 9 and as the temperature goes up it is melting. Already fallen off the wires and trees, but there is still some on the roofs. It is supposed to go to about 7° and rain later.

Woke up to medium level of snow falling. Watched my neighbour shovelling the path. No idea why he thought it was a good idea cos 30 minutes later it was completely covered again. He re-emerged an hour later once it had stopped and did it once more, which is what he shoulda done in the first place.

Bonn remains subzero, has been for a week now, so the snow is piling up. Got a (very good looking cute) Mexican colleague en route as I type; she's gonna have a hell of a shock, I did warn her. Wondering whether the Rhine will flood once this crap all melts.

it's been really cold here too. Temperatures have dropped till 18 C in the morning and i have even been forced to turn off the ceiling fan in the bedroom. But fortunately it warms up during the day, and the sky is blue.

Akana, i suppose you are awaiting more daylight right? ;-)
When i was living a year in Eskilstuna, Sweden, i remember a few days with -20° as the maximum temperature.

Ah Paris Kerouac. I'm so glad Mr A postponed his trip of today. He woke up very early this morning just before it started snowing here, and was about to leave....

Artemis2, yes it's getting better now. At this time of the year we already have daylight when the work day ends at 4pm. Nice to walk home the snowy paths of the central park. In the morning still a bit dark though.

Here it is 9° this morning. Yesterday morning's snow was mostly gone by late afternoon -- still a bit in my garden on the grass today but it won't last.
