3 days off, where?I will be going to Malaysia for work at the end of January and will have 3 days to go somewhere other than Kuala Lumpur. I’ve been recommended Pulau Tioman but I’ve read it is rainy season in the east at that time, so is there any other place similar in the west coast? I don’t wanna spend long hours flying since time is limited. Is there lots of things to do in Kuala Lumpur, is worth being there a couple of days or with a couple of free afternoons I should have enough?

1For a beach you could fly to Langkawi or somewhere in southern Thailand (fly to Krabi or Phuket, then continue by taxi+boat).
For wildlife fly to Sandakan (via KK), then taxi to Sukau on the Kinabatangan river:
or visit Sepilok near Sandakan.
Another option is Kuching (colonial city with lots of local culture, Semenggoh orang utan rehab centre nearby):

2East side is out due to the rain otherwise I would say Perhentian islands. With this in mind your best options would be Cameron Highlands to see the tea plantations although I really enjoyed KL and could easily spend three days there.

3You could risk going to Tioman as the monsoon will be at the tail end. It's quite a short flight from KL on Berjaya Air.
