Fast trip to Myanmar and Laos need help planning

My Wife and I are planning a trip in February we are flying from Lax to Bangkok and back for free. The down side is we are on a short time schedule. We land in Bangkok late on Feb9th and have to be back there to fly out on feb 24th.
we would like to go to Laos and Myanmar.
How many days should we spend in each?
Which are the best routes?
Is Airasia the best way to fly? without killing the wallet?
Good places to stay in say Bagan,Yangon,Vientiane and Luang Prabang or others.
We know this is the best board for great ideas. Thanks in advance for any advice/help!
Cheers Eric

Just go to Myanmar not worth splitting 15 days into 2 countries. Yes AA is the best way. Best route fly into MAndaly and leave from Yangon or other way around. Do Bagan, Mandalay and Inle and Yangon.

myanmar has been discovered.....tourism is way up. some people are having
trouble booking rooms. laos might be less stressful.

you could either fly or train from bangkok to vientienne, and get VOA.
nok air has $60 flights in february.

OK 1 have you been to asia before? ie Thailand Cambodia etc
if not then 14 days stick to laos and maybe thailand forget flying to Vientianne do it this way
arrive from LAX into BKK spend 1st 2 nights in Bangkok sightseeing etc and then overnight bus from Mochit (tae #3 local bus from near kasoan rd Samsen rd nth ands overnight to Changmai do 2 day trek withe lephant ride bamboo rafting swim under waterfalls white water rafting and ethnic tribes (normally around touristy but beautiful Mae rim area then onto border with 730 bus to Changkong & Houyxai and for EU $35 VOA speedboat next am 830am to luam phrabang then Ponsivon/Vang Vienne. Vientianne straight onto Konglor caves leave via savanhakhet to Chantaburi and Trat 3 days on beach Koh Chang hea dfor airport and wherever home?

Yes some planning for Myanmar maybe needed. Laos is OK, I would just stick to the north, VTE,VV, LP and then further north.

Agree with above dont try and do both. 15 days would be almost the perfect amount of time for myanmar (imho) or enough to do the main route through laos.

Thanks for the quick response. ok- I think we might just do one country.
Also, we have been to Cambodia and Vietnam ten years ago. We chose Laos and Myanmar because we wanted to see them before they became completly develoed.
If we go to Myanmar any sugestions on route, time in each place, hotels, transport Etc..
I hear booking can be chalenging.
We are open to ideas.
Thank you for your time and effort.
Cheers Eric
