Indonesia itinerary - need help with details!

Getting back into planning my trip to Indonesia after having been away (traveling :-)). I have received some good suggestions from my previous posts but am still working out the details. I am a solo female traveler and will be headed to Jakarta in a couple of weeks. Here's my itinerary:.... and while 11-12 days is not nearly enough time, it's my only option...

Day 1: Arrive Jakarta
Day 2: Fly to Kalimantan (Pangkalan Bun). Head directly to Tanjung Puting. Hire klotok for 2 days. Overnight on a klotok.
Day 3: Tanjung Puting via klotok. Overnight on klotok.

I'm still trying to find out if the park is open this time of the year. Any recommendations on arranging a klotok for 2 nights?

Day 4: Fly to Yogya.
Day 5: Yogya - day trip to Borobudur.
Day 6: Yogya - day trip to Prambanam.
Day 7: Leave for Bromo. Overnight in Bromo. The bus rides between Yogya and Bromo are listed as 10 hours. Is there a more convenient way of getting to Bromo?

Day 8: Afternoon-ish, leave for Bali (Bus? Ferry? What's the most convenient connection?).
Day 9: Bali
Day 10: Bali
Day 11: Bali
Day 12: Bali - Fly back to Jakarta. Late night flight out of Jakarta - back home.

While in Bali, is it possible to just stay at one place and travel around the island? I would like to spend some time in Ubud, do some diving around the island, visit Padangbai perhaps...

Any suggestions on this whirlwind of an itinerary would be great. Thanks!

The following links may be helpful:

Arriving in and staying overnight in Jakarta:

Six Degrees

Just get the DAMRI airport bus to Gambir Station and take a taxi (short distance) to Jalan Cikini Raya. The Jalan Cikini Raya area is a pleasant one - get some info here.

From Cikini Station, you can take a suburban line train and do a day trip to the interesting Bogor Botanical Gardens.

Citilink

Train travel in Indonesia

You may be able to do Borobudur and Prambanan in one day.

For your stay in Bali, check out the GMV. You can hire a car with a driver and do day trips to everywhere on the island, e.g. to Tanah Lot and Pura Ulun Danu Bratan

This report was just posted here after your query:

So you'd better skip Kalimantan. You haven't got enough time anyway, I'm afraid.

My suggestion would be to drop Kalimantan completely....you will spend far more of this trip in transit than actually doing anything interesting.

My other suggestion would be to start in Yogya and finish in Bali.....rather than flying back and forward to and from Jakarta......

hi Nina ,

For Day in Tanjung Puting National Parks , please try to connect with www.ecolodgesindonesia.com please i am not try to sell anything here, i am suggesting based on my experience with them
Day 4: fly to Semarang instead of Yogyakarta, from Semarang you can travelling to Jogjakarta by bus, stopover at Jombor Bus Terminal, then catch Trans Jogja to city centre Malioboro or Prawirotaman area .
From Jogjakarta to Bromo , probably you can go by Sancaka Train http:// morning departure at 06.45am or 07.00am stop at Jombang Station and rent a car from Jombang to Tosari just suggestion
From Bromo, take a car to Probollingo Train Station and buy a train ticket to Bali.....

Save trip
