Isl to Chitral Car Rental Service

Hey I would appreciate it if anyone can give me recommendations and contacts for reliable car rental service from Islamabad to Chitral and back.

As time is an issue I would rather call them and get an approximate idea of what I'm getting, rather then going to Islamabad and hunting around there!

So please where possible do include any contact Numbers that you may have!

Thanx alot guys!

if you're not from Pakistan you need a permit and that can take a few days

The noc which is requirement for non-Pakistani travellers does take time. You have to apply 14 days prior to your departure for it at Home Department Peshawar.

Update about NOC from Islamabad/Peshawar on a way to Gilgit.

1. Went to Ministry of Interior in ISL and they told me NOC would take 4-6 weeks, I said my visa is only 30 days, then said - please don't go, it's for your safety. I basically think they aren't giving the NOCs at the moment.

2. Tried my luck at the Home Department in Peshawar about the same, the administrator told me that the area is under army control so any NOC has to be approved by them and it takes 6 to 8 weeks, if at all. So basically no way you can get it at the moment.

Looks like the only way is to fly and come back. If anybody got NOC to go up, please post here.

Thanks for sharing your first hand report on Peshawar-Chitral NOC matter. It is quite difficult to obtain this NOC thing.
