Sugestions needed to finalize 5-week itinerary in JAN'13- 3 options
Hey theregetting closer to make some decisions in my trip but some advice from local or from fellow travellers who knows the region would be much aprreciated!!! got 5 weeks, mid JAN.
Need to put itinerary together that doesnt have much backtracking and is logical based on transportation,places... here are the options
A:
fly into Manila, go north Sagada,Banaue, back to manila, south to Legazpi (Mt.Mayon,Donsol,Manta bowl)
then fly from Legazpi to Cebu and tour Visayas-( diving,beach,nature,hiking...) Bohol,SIquijor, Padre Burgos,Negros, fly from Cebu to Palawan (PP i guess) spend few days there and then head back to Manila
B
fly into Cebu, tour Visayas (same program as above, not sure about the order) fly to Palawan and then maybe somehow via Batangas go south Luzon- donsol, Mt.Mayon and head Manila,Banaue,Sagada and fly out of Manila.
C
fly into Manila, north, then south Luzon (Mayon,Donsol) the catch is, any option to get from there to Palawan???
then Palawan cebu and same program for Visayas, fly out of Cebu.
maybe some of the ideas are not the best ones, let me know what you think or what would u change, skip, add. thank you very much!!!

Option A looks pretty good with 5 weeks, but more time for Palawan..2
As above "A" is the one, try for 10 days minimum on Palawan.3
Agree with the other two with option A but more time in Palawan.4
they're all too crowded. You should allow 5 days in each place as an absolute minimum as in itineraries like these, around 20% is taken up with travel. If you're going to have 10 days in Palawan, that means you can only do 4 or at absolute most 5 other places. Just getting from Padre Burgos to Cebu will take a full day as the Maasin-Cebu ferry is minimum 6 hours (and probably more than that) on top of the bus journey getting there.then there's stuff like weather conditions stopping the ferries as happened this week. Then there's nothing you can do and you're stranded and in some cases, like a German couple who were on the same resort as me in Biliran on Sunday 2nd, really sweating about getting their vital departing flight out of Cebu for Hong Kong on the 8th. They'll probably make it, but it will be touch and go. It looked easy at the planning stage for them, however because they didn't reckon on the unforseen happening, like a typhoon messing everything up, they're going to end up finishing up their vacation in a semi-panic.

As most people say try to extend time in Palawan as transport there is quite complicated and time consuming. If you are going to Donsol for the whale sharks than skip it and get a cheap flight with Cebu P or Airphil express to Dumaguete if possible. There you will be able to join a tour with Harold's Mansion which is simply amazing.http://www.everydaysomewhere.com/2012/02/snorkelling-with-whale-sharks-in.html
Also keep in mind Malapascua if you are into diving.
