Reggaeton Banned in Cuba as Castro Cracks Down on Music
Really?? I have a big problem of course with most forms of censorship but personally would be grateful to not ever hear another Reggaeton song. I wonder how this will affect the street and club raves and Reggaeton played in a cab etc. What's next? A ban on stupid male haircuts and the phrase "Hello my fren..." ??http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-04/reggaeton-banned-in-cuba-as-castro-cracks-down-on-music.html

I am not a fan of Reggaeton so they can send all the reggaeton singers including my partner to the Island of Youth to rap their hearts out.As a side note a group of Italians singers will be putting on a free concert in Havana this Saturday. They bought over their own sound equipment and whatever else they need to blow the roof off. Sounds really really BIG according to my companion who is thinking for going to see them sing and maybe get their autographs.

And how fantastic - “Neither vulgarity nor mediocrity will be able to tarnish the richness of Cuban music” - thank all the gods. The double entendres in the old songs were a lot more subtle, and a lot less demeaning to women. And a hell of a lot easier to listen to :-)But then I'm just a grumpy old woman........
