Just had the bait and switch re: hotels. Hotel Virrey de Mendoza went from $12 to $99.25!Tried making a reservation for the Mision Cathedral, and they don't have room on Friday to Sunday coming up. Any other recommendations for centro?
I've been told that there is quite a bit available, and I may just arrive around noon this Friday and check out some places. However, good suggestions welcomed! Looking for slightly above budget to mid-range.

I surprisingly enjoyed Hotel New York. A few blocks west of the Alameda, one or two blocks from the Monument. Around $25-30 for a single.http://www.hotelnewyork.mx

Oops, moment of confusion there.Well, when I was in Morelia I ended up staying in Posada Don Vasco and was pretty pleased... ended up looking at some rooms which struck me as pretty blah for around 350-400, then finding out that there was an odd, small, brand-newly renovated, windowless room (not ideal but it was cold so it worked out!) in the back of the hotel for 200 a night. Location was nice too, a block from Plaza Valladoid.
Folks were nice too, but man that reception smelled like an ashtray.
