Tornado seasons during our trip?

I once drove through Louisiana after a tornadic alligator event. The road was littered with their carcasses. I have a pair of shoes, two belts, and a preserved head to show for it, and a memory of a very tasty barbequed gator tail. It's always best to get there after the storm has passed.
