Traveling through South America.. Ecaudor worth it?
Hi all,I'm planning a two month trip through Colombia, Ecuador (maybe), and Peru beginning in February. I'm going to spend roughly a month in Colombia then was considering flying into Quito. From there I'm going to Lima then on to Cusco, but the issue I'm having is that a one way flight to Lima is extremely expensive from Ecuador.
Is Ecuador worth spending 1-2 weeks in or should I skip it and head down to Peru?

I would say in 2 months you'll have enough on your plate getting around Colombia & Peru. Although if you ONLY want to see Cusco in Peru, then you have time for a couple of weeks in Ecuador, and yes, it is a nice country, but it depends on what you want to see / do.IMO a better use of $$ would be to see more of Peru, and save Ecuador for another time.

Quito's a pretty city and worthwhile for a few days. Out of town the middle of the world exhibit is fun as is the El Crater restaurant.I'm assuming that the Galapagos is not in your sights. If it is, then a 7 day cruise is magical but expensive.
Cusco IMO is just as interesting as Quito so if finances are an issue I would spend the extra time in Peru, especially Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.
