Sri Lanka in 7 days, help please

Hi,

I am planning to go to Sri Lanka in a couple of weeks.I have a route of such below, but I am short in 2 days (this plan is long and don't know how to shorten it or if I can make it in these days) I need your help and advises to refine it....pls find my comments below.

15th Dec
18:20pm Arrival to Colombo
1 night stay in Colombo

16th Dec
Colombo sightseeing
16:20pm catch Anuradhapura train 1st class
book : https://onlinebooking.exporail.lk/exporail/online.htm
stay 2 nights in Anuradhapura

17th Dec
Anuradhapura sightseeing

18th Dec
Anuradhapura to Polonnaruwa bus (Rs 46, three hours) every hour from around 5.30am to 6pm
get one at 6am-7am
Sightsee Polonnaruwa
1 night stay in Polonnaruwa

19th Dec
Head to Sigiraya
Sightsee Sigiraya and Dambulla caves
Go to Kandy
1 night stay in Kandy

20th Dec
Sightsee Kandy
Go to Nuwara elaya
1 night stay in Nuwara Elaya

21st Dec
Go to World’s end in the morning, head to Yala Nat park just after that

22nd Dec
Go to Mirissa

23rd Dec
Go To Unawatuna and Galle
Get to Colombo airport, catch the plane.

1. I want to get to Anuradhapura the same day I arrive, but there is no transportation to get me to Anuradhapura at around 21pm or so. That makes a loss of 1 day for me, what do you advise? (I want to skip Colombo, dont want to see it)
2. I can in alternative, skip Anuradhapura and directly head to Polonnaruwa. But again at that time I arrive, there is no such transportation, any advise?
3. How can I reach to Yala from Nuwara Elaya? How much it would cost a safari in Yala?
4. How can I reach from Unawatuna to Colombo on 22nd evening?
5. How much would it cost me if I'd rented a car and do the same?

Regards,

Murat

ing to my point of view you can skip colombo. Its a city with traffic jam and very busy noisy too. for me its not so interesting and take a taxi from the air port if you want to go same day. You can bargain for a good price.
and instead of two nights stay one night there.
from kandy to Nanuoya you can have a nice train journey if you like.
if you already reserved train tickets stay one night in Anhauradpura avoid polonnaruwa.
both places have ruins and bit similar things

Thanks Rony for your response.

I am thinking about the same, skipping colombo...
Also want to take out one of the sites, either Anuradhapura or Polonnaruwa..

So the refined version is as follows:

15th Dec
18:20pm Arrival to Colombo
Find a way to get to Anuradhapura
2 nights stay in Anuradhapura.

16th Dec
Anuradhapura sightseeing
Stay in Anuradhapura

17th Dec
Anuradhapura to Polonnaruwa bus (Rs 46, three hours) every hour from around 5.30am to 6pm
get one at 6am-7am
Sightsee Polonnaruwa
1 night stay in Polonnaruwa

18th Dec
Head to Sigiraya
Sightsee Sigiraya and Dambulla caves
Go to Kandy
1 night stay in Kandy

19th Dec
Sightsee Kandy
Go to Nuwara elaya by train
1 night stay in Nuwara Elaya

20st Dec
Go to World’s end in the morning or directly head to Yala Nat park just after that

21nd Dec
Go to Mirissa

22rd Dec
Go To Unawatuna
Get to Colombo airport, catch the plane.

1. I hear stg abt midnight buses from Colombo to both Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. For the midnight buses anybody has any idea where to take them? Also is there any online booking thing for that bus?

2. From Nurawa Elaya, there how can get to world's end in the morning and get to Yala (by cab how much it would cost me - casuse thats the only way)

3. For Mirissa whale wathcing, do I need pre-booking and do you know any companies arranging that - the prices?

4. Unawatuna and to colombo cab, how much should I pay?

Thanks for your helps
Cheers

Murat
