public holiday

We are flying into Paris on May 1st next year which I have read is a public holiday. Having never been to Europe before, should we expect any problems with getting a train from the airport into the city if that is how we decide to get there, or public transport in general.
Many thanks

Public transport will be on a Sunday/public holiday schedule, which means that there will be fewer trains, but there will still be trains. You'll just have to wait a bit longer. Same goes for public transport in the city.

Thank you. Sounds the same as here in Australia.

OP, as you see by regards' post, there are a lot of holidays in France in May. It's always considered the month that people work the least.

So, if you are planning on travelling around, be sure to book trains and hotels in advance since many people take advantage of long weekends (which might go from Thursday to Sunday in the case of Ascension) to go away.
