Wow. Wobegon is at it again. "Not hype. Understated. The U.S. Department of State travel warning is the most accurate information available. Based on facts, not fiction." This state department warning is good for those planning to deal drugs, or hit on the drug gang's women. And it is most useful for government employees, another potential target of the drug wars. But it provides no useful information for travelers, and effectively has nothing to do with typical tourism. And to think that the government takes our money to pay these oafs putting out such nonsense.18

Back in 2006, Apatzingan came to the national spotlight with severed heads were thrown into a strip-club at 3am in the morning. In 2010, the town saw major cartel leaders captured and thrown in jail.
