Bike hire Havana

Planning to cycle a lot in Havana. How bike friendly are the streets and traffic in Havana? Can you hire reasonably modern bikes by paying a bit more? Does the law compel use of helmets? I guess it is right hand side of the road. Is that correct?
Gracias

Yes, right hand side. I doubt that there is a law about helmets (nor against carrying livestock on bikes).

I haven't tried cycling in Havana but suspect it isn't particularly bike friendly - too many narrow streets and pot-holes.

As Conner stated in a previous thread,You definitely need your street chops. That being said,I have spent many days cycling around Havana, and highly recomend it. You need 2 people or a good lock,as you cannot leave it for a second .. This is anecdotal,as I never had a problem, but always was very careful. Geography good for cycling, much easier than the hills of Santiago !
