buying etickets for Primera Plus 2012

Has anyone successfully bought and used e-tickets for the Primera Plus Puerto Vallarta to Melaque run in 2012? Does the seat reservation system work properly?

Why would you want to buy an e-ticket? You got to the Central de camiones near the airport and buy your ticket. Or in the old town buy your ticket at the departure point!

Yes, I have done it.successfully but it may be difficult with a non-Mexican credit card. I very much doubt that buses will be full on that sort of route as long as you book them at least 24 hours in advance.

If you are spending time in Old Town, Primera Plus now has an office very close to the Old Town stop (corner of Aguacate and Carranza) where you could purchase your ticket in advance. Hours are 10 am to 4 (?) pm.

BTW, the morning departure from the above stop (8:20 am) is a direct route and does not go into Tomatlan, thus saving about an hour.

Bien viaje

Piece of Cake. I just purchased a ticket Guadalajara to Guanajuato on January 2 one of the biggest travel days of the year. If you go to their site all info in English. I used my US CC with no problems
One secret is you can not book but one month in advance, In other words you can now book January departures.
Just go o Primera plus.com.

I bought a bus ticket at Oxxo two weeks ago; it was dead easy and the clerk was able to show me the screen so I could see all the departure times and prices and pick my seat and everything. Very handy indeed, and you can pay in cash or with credit card right there in the store. Fill up your cell phone while you're at it.

But I've also bought tickets online from Canada. The first time I did it I printed off the receipt and it looked dramatically different from the thing they give you if you buy your ticket at La Central. But I took it to the ticket counter and asked if it was legit and the woman said yes absolutely, it's a proper ticket. Worked like a charm as well. I paid with a Canadian Visa card.

That is a very nice thing at Oxxo. I am there at least once a day and buy many things there including bus tickets, air tickets, cellular credit, etc. And I find most of the clerks helpful.

Yeah, I agree. In many ways things in Mexico are more efficient and handy than in Canada. You can buy almost anything at the Oxxo store, you can get your laundry done fast and cheap, you can buy nearly any manner of things on the street, there are more markets and small grocery stores, you can buy small single serving portions of things...as a rule I don't like places like Walmart and 7-Eleven and Oxxo and the like, but I find myself going all the time in Mexico.

Agree. I usually avoid the convenience type stores in the US but here use them often. For one thing, I dont find their prices for many items to be much higher than the large supermarkets. I often find Walmarts prices the highest, expecially for grocery items. Many items I buy, are cheaper in little neighborhood stores.
