Power Blackout in Mawlamyine

No a/c, shower, fan, tv, light for most of the day.
Came back in late pm
There is a rumour that a govt official wanted to operate his pool size jacuzzi and needed to tap into the town grid.

Sounds reasonable to me DIY Franco. you forget the difficulties the generals have in maintaining order with these nutty democrats running around ruining everything.
his Jacuzzi is important relief do not begrudge him his simple pleasures. Just because your Hotel is too tight to turn the generator on. you don't get this at Breeze where they operate the generator for customers convenience, unless this particular govt official has already requisitioned it ha! Ha!

That is a long time without power.
I feel for those couples that like a bit of noon time nookie.

It doesn't take a general wanting to run his jacuzzi to have a power outage in Burma. Power outages are routine. No matter where you go in the country, you will likely have power out of some portion of each day.

I luckily didn't experience a single one when I was there. Wasn't in my hotel much either though...

Oh dear. Has it come to this, that the modernization of Myanmar means that a power outage is some kind of news?
A couple of years ago I spent two months in country and had blackouts just about every day. A number of places I visited last year only get power for 4 or so hours a day (when everything is working correctly).
