I plan to spend a couple of weeks in Trivandrum region of India and get some oversea teaching experience...and i'm hoping to spend 2-3 days visiting Maldives before settling in TRV. Anyone with tips for such a brief side trip? Is flying from TRV to Male the most economical and reasonable way to go? Should I get these tickets here in the US first or get it when I get to TRV? Your suggestions or recommendations for a "budget resort" in Maldives would be appreciated!

Air India flies direct from Trivandrum to Male. But it's an expensive flight. It may be much cheaper to fly Sri lankan Airlines (Trivandrum - Colombo - Male). Check out websites such as cleartrip.com or makemytrip.com or skyscanner.co.inSorry, can't help you on budget resorts in Maldives.
