Nicaragua and the Moon
The U.S. last week returned part of the moon to Nicaragua 30 years after former dictator Anastasio Somoza sold it off to a U.S. businessman. In a private ceremony on Nov. 16, NASA administrator Charles F. Bolden presented Nicaraguan Ambassador Francisco Campbell with a collection of moon rocks that were originally given to the people of Nicaragua by U.S. President Richard Nixon in 1973. The moon rocks, gathered by the crew of the Apollo 11 during the first manned lunar landing, were presented along with a small Nicaraguan flag that made the journey into space.
At some point, the gift was sold to U.S. businessman Bob Stupak, who kept it locked in a safe until his death two years ago, when it was given back to NASA. The U.S. space agency then returned it to the people of Nicaragua via its ambassador in Washington, D.C.

This says a lot about where Nicaragua ( and the U.S.) was in the year 1973. First you have these two despicable characters of the era. http://www.latinamericanstudies.org/somoza/tacho-nixon.jpgThis would have been right after the devastating 1972 earthquake when the Sandinista (FLSN) movement organized relief, began to expand its influence and assumed the leadership of the revolution. The very downfall of the regime is attributed to its embezzlement of millions of dollars in foreign aid that was given to the country in response the earthquake. So Somoza takes another gift (the moon rocks) to the people for himself and converts it for his own gain. But after the revolution he fled Nicaragua to exile in Paraguay where he met up with a Sandinista team that had two Soviet-made machine guns, two AK-47 assault rifles, two automatic pistols, and an RPG-7 rocket launcher with four anti-tank grenades and two rockets. The results were not good for Anastasio to say the least.

The conclusion: Just like the lava rocks from Hawaii these moon rocks are cursed with bad luck. http://www.discoverhawaiitours.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/lava-rock-houston-web.jpg
This could be another C.I.A. dirty trick!
