Some think it sacriledge to make the mere mention of any other travel guide books on here. Let alone put it into an avatar. I'd say someone was having a bad hair day.

They are not abiding by the spirit of staying in hostels.
What spirit?. Hostels are money making ventures and will run their businesses accordingly.
Judging by your efforts to date on this post you are bully who resents the fact that people and the world are not behaving in your interests and desires.
Get real, if you don't like the way hostels have evolved then go elsewhere, as has been done by damn near all the long term posters on TT Aust.

"..and ROSS, I find your avatar offensive, this is a LP forum and I have reported you. "

You must be easily offended.

I would hope that LP are mature enough to recognise that there are other guide books on the market.

Also, I would suggest that it is the "quality" of posts that matters not the "quantity".

Hostels are a business, if they want the steady income of long term residents who are you to whinge to them about it.

You posted looking for support and now realise you are a minority view and started having a sook about it.

You try to dictate the tone of conversation (positive to your view) on a public forum and ask for respect when you have posted a piddly amount of times compared to a lot of other people on this site.

Of course they can stay in hostels and how about you respect them, maybe they can tell you are looking down your nose at them you snob.

Our first few trips to SEA in 1990s, we used both before going to cross reference. No LPTT in those days. They just cater to a different market, thats all.
