Medical for New Zealand Visa in New York

Hi all, I'm currently living in New York City and I need to get a medical and chest x-ray for my NZ visa application. Last time I got a medical in the UK and the immigration NZ website has a list of doctors you can go to but apparently any doctor in the US can do it. I want to go to a good doctor but also don't want to over pay for it (I'm a student!). Does anyone have any recommendations for where to get this done in the New York City area? Thanks a lot!

No, but I would double check that 'any doctor in the US can do it'.
It's been my experience in the past that you must use the doctors that are approved. But I may be wrong, this was for the UK.

this is what it says...

Country: United States of America
Notes: Persons inside the USA can use any local doctor within the United States of America. Medical certificates completed in the USA must be completed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD) only. The medical certificate cannot be completed by a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), a Nurse, or a Physician's Assistant.

OK, fine. Just concerned cos that's not how it is in the UK...
You might be better off trying the US branch for your question re. a dr?

I'd A's in the phone directory and take the first one that was close to where I was staying. If you're fit and healthy, it shouldnt matter who you went to.

OK...
I know the cost of doctors vary greatly, especially in New York, so I was more looking for recommendations if anyone has had experience with one.

As LisaMNZ suggested, people in the America branch are more likely to have experience with US doctors.
