Hello, I will look around the forum because I'm sure this question has already been answered, but if you don't mind and you know, what is the most direct way to get from Rio to Ilha Grande? I believe you take a bus to a town, then get on a ferry.Thank you!

Usually bus to Angra dos Reis (or Mangaratiba or Conceicao) and boat to Abrao. Here are some schedules:

I have done some research and we plan to take the Costa Verde bus from Rio to Conceição de Jacareí. From there, we plan on taking a boat via Saveiros Andrea to Abraão.Then once we leave Abraão, we will be heading to Paraty next. So we will take the boat back to the mainland and then need to take a bus I assume. Is it better to take a boat from Abraão to Conceição de Jacareí or Angra dos Reis. And then once on the mainland - do we take the Costa Verde bus again to Paraty? I can't find how much bus tickets are from there to Paraty.
Lastly, do you think any of these bus or boat tickets need to be purchased in advance?
Thanks for your help!!

How would you go about doing that? It seems you can't do it online, for CostaVerde anyway, because the page is set up for a Brazilian address and CPF. A couple/few days ahead should be OK at that time of year though IMO, but someone more local to Rio might want to opine.22
I think Costa Verde don´t have buses from Angra to Paraty. I saw a bus company called "Colitur" on google, but they don´t have a website. I think it´s ok to show up at Angra´s bus station and buy the ticket to the next bus to Paraty... this route won´t be so crowded on December 23th, IMO.23
The bus company Paulista (I think thats the name) will have buses from Angra to Paraty (and onward to Sao Paulo.Just rock up to the bus station and book your ticket. It wont be a problem as inaciamartinelli says.
