Getting a Korean work (teaching) visa interview from Georgia?

Has anyone obtained a Korean work visa from in or near Georgia (northeast of Turkey)? Specifically, is there anywhere close by that one can go for the visa interview?

I read on one site that S. Korea had plans to estabish an embassy or consulate in Georgia. However, I don't see any evidence that they have actually done so.

One wiki says they made their Ukraine embassy responsible for everything to do with Georgia. But it's very expensive to travel to the Ukraine, particularly on an ESL teacher's salary in Georgia. I wonder if it's absolutely necessary to go there for an interview.

Has anyone done the interview with the Korean embassy in Turkey, perhaps -- or elsewhere in the region?

I have tried e-mailing the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs at two separate locations, but no reply so far.

Thanks.

You could get in touch with the embassy of South Korea in Azerbaijan. I don't know if their jurisdiction includes Georgia but they list in their web the price of visas for Georgians... you could give it a try.

Hi, nomadic_meow.

As per web page Embassy of Azerbaijan, their jurisdiction covers Georgia, too.

(written in Korean, I guess you can use google translate)

English page doesn't have any info of Azerbaijan's.

Thanks but I'm American, not Georgian.

And the price of an Azeri tourist visa for Americans, is about the same as a one-way ferry to Ukraine. Which is to say very expensive by the local standards I get paid in.
