Dinner recommendations for Miami/ South Beach Area

Vacationing in the Miami/ South Beach area during end of March/ beginning of April and trying to find some recommendations for dinner. Appreciate any feedback of types of cuisines, and restaurants.

Chowhound and TripAdvisor sites are both excellent for this type of question.

On our family's trip to Miami we found the city centre itself to be a souless sort of a place, and then we went to the beach and found a different vibe there altogether.

We just walked along the beach front untill we found a Thia place, i do not remember the name, it was OK, as it had the US view of Thia food i thought, but we got a table near the front window and people watched while we ate our dinner, we saw types there we would never see in our hometown in North California, allover it wasn't bad dining experience at all.

Do you have a car?

How much are you willing to pay (per meal/entree, with/without alcohol)? In numbers, please.

What type of atmosphere? Fancy? Dive? Family? Something else?

Anything in particular you care to avoid (Italian, chains, dressing up, etc.)?

The best restaurants in Miami are in the Brickell/ Miami Avenue area, and some more in the Coral Gables area. As for a restaurant recommendation, you have to say what price range and cousine you prefer. Are you interested in a restaurant that provides live entertainment in addition to food?
