Christmas in Nederland

It seems that I have to stay in Nederland during Christmas since the tickets are already expensive to book now. Does any one have suggestions places to visit during Christmas in Nederland? I love culture and nature, but it seems that it is not a good idea to enjoy nature in winter time, so I'd skip it. Culture is the only options.

Thanks so much

Nature, culture and in Amsterdam(!) Easy to join/learn. If no ice-flour another water-related event to join Sorry no undertitling when singing some Holland Festival items.

If there's snow,

Some ideas, not always season-related: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=2087780&start=15

Merry X-mas and enjoy.

Where are you located?

Thank you Arizona.

My concern is on Dec 21-26, I am afraid there will be no museum open, and then practically I have nothing to do here. Cycling to villages in Nederland will be good idea but not in winter. In that case, some festivals - especially on Dec 25 and 26 will be very good. I am in Rotterdam area. Thanks again.

Most museums will be open except as ususal Mondays and 25 Jansuary, Christmas Day. Some close a bit earlier around.
Example in the Rotterdam museum quarter: Boymans van Beuningen

Since you're very specific about timeframe and interest (though pretty broad: culture) there will for sure be posters to point out to some events.

26 December: http://www.midwinterhoornblazen.nl/wandelingen.htm plus Google Translator.
If the weather is ok, it's great. don't be afraid for a 10 km walk.
If you consider to do so, just PM me.

Hello Arizona, thank you for your info. I will definetely contact you if I go to mid winterhoornblazen, it looks interesting. What if I only finish 2 km, is it possible? I dont have proper winter shoes, I bought a wrong one and don't intend to buy another one since this may be my last winter.

I am still looking for a ticket to Greece, Lourdes seem to be too expensive. If there is no promo ticket, I'll join you for winterhoornblazen.

No Kuntarini, you have to empty the whole glass (via dolorosa, you know). Actually it's luck of the draw to meet good circumtances and it's pretty a detour. I think Greece is better. And it's better for the Greek, if you go there.
