Is it impossible to exchange my surplus Argie pesos to chilean pesos
Hello dear forum,Question for all of you the savvy and experienced members.
Iam about to set up a Xoom account to send USD into BsAs before my trip to BsAs
then withdraw in Argetinean Pesos while there. This is the best and safest method of
getting the USD into Argentinean Pesos, I have been advised by many at BA expats forum
instead of bringing USD phisically with me and then converting it at the Cambio Houses.
They said that the Xoom services now days will give your Pesos at almost or close to Dollar Blue
rate as if you were exchanging it at the streets such as on Florida using the Arbolitos. Minus the
probable danger of being robbed or being given fake Pesos.
But if Iam not becareful of calculating as to how much Pesos I will need to stay while there.I will have much unused
Pesos leftover and I don't have a clue as to how much Argie Pesos I would be using while in BsAs,?
Therefore,I have been told that the "surplus" Pesos can not be exchanged back to any foreign currency.?
I wanted to visit Chile after BsAs therefore exchanging my surplus Argie Pesos into Chilean Pesos while in BsAs.
Is this exchanging my surplus Argie Pesos into Chilean Pesos impossible,as being told.?
If is so, what would you the forum members suggest in my case as to next step in resolving my
possible infacing problem.?
If all fails, is it possible for me to bring the unused Argie Pesos into Chile and then exchanging
it there.? Will Chile accept Argentinean Pesos in exchange.?
Please help out here.

ARS outside Argentina are worth less than a toilet paper, what you will need to do with any leftovers is to change them to USD on black market at about 6.5-7.Best thing to do: don't change too much and if you have some excess spend it on something

You can change Argentine pesos to Chilean pesos in Chile. I checked a few days ago for someone. You probably don't get a very good rate. Personally, I would look at how much I had left a couple of days before leaving Argentina and up the quality of my meals or lodging. I don't think it is that difficult to spend money in BA now.4
Alternatively do most of your spending in Argentina in USD.5
You can change at the border and at some places outside Argentina Pesos, obviously not at a good rate but you won´t loose much. Many people from the neighbouring countries needs Pesos argentinos and therefore there is some demand. The other option is to change the Pesos back into Dollars at the black market. Ask at your hotel or a travel agency to do that. Somebody will give you a safe option. In Buenos Aires there is a black market on the street. That´s isn´t dangerous as long as you don´t do something wrong. The people who do the black market need to survive too but don´t go to strange places inside buildongs or things like that6
HI:I´m a local from BA. Here you an get chilean pesos with ARS. Not in all places, but it´s not impossible. One of the places is in Florida 532 gallery. Go a short stairs down and 1st shop at your left.
And please, ban_janti_return could you stop with your wrong comments about Argentina? It make confussing many people...
