Is it advisable to book non-AVE train trips in advance around New Year?Hi, I'd appreciate any thoughts on the advisability of booking train reservations for the Seville-Granada and Granada-Cordova portions of a trip through Andaluscia around the New Year holiday.
I've already purchased a RailEurope Spain pass, and made reservations to cover the journeys out of /returning to Madrid on the AVE. However, because of the delay in the posting of RENFE train schedules, I have not yet booked reservations for the Seville--Granada--Cordova portions of the journey. (In fact, the RailEurope web site is currently reporting that the Seville--Granada portion is a "non-reservable" train.) Paying yet another delivery charge for only 1 or 2 reservations that may not need to be booked ahead of time seems a waste of money.
On the other hand, I need to catch specific trains on January 2 and January 4, and am concerned that reservations at the local stations in Seville and Granada may be gone. Does anyone know how busy or booked the medium-distance trains between Seville-Granada-Cordova get at that time of year? Should I book reservations now or wait till I am in Spain? thanks!

1You can book the leg from Sevilla to Granada once in Spain. You shouldn't have problems in order to make it.
For Granada to Córdoba I recommend the bus as it's much cheaper than the train. The only trains that go from Granada to Córdoba are those making the route from Granada to Madrid (i.e.: long distance trains; not medium distance trains). I'm not familiar enough with the route as to tell you how busy it'll be but Jan. 4 is a busy day and many trains get full (but I don't know if that one will be); specially the afternoon (and afterwards) trains.
