What do you really want to do when visiting Hanoi?
What do you really want to do when visiting Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general?Just visit some famous sites as mention everywhere or do you want to see the normal life in Hanoi?
If yes, which places do you want to visit? (such as markets, university buildings...)
Ah, do you like travelling around by motorcycle?

You guys are mean:) I remember I was called a tout and someone told me to read the policy on advertising. Hahahaha. So I'm nice to people......I like the snake restaurant and finding unusual things.
I like the lake and meeting all kinds of people.
I like the chocolate buffet at Metropole.
Markets
Drinking sua chua ca phe next to that coffin place. Nothing like getting screamed at first thing in the morning when I started touching things trying to figure out what the place was......
Motorbikes? I'd love to! You might want to evacuate Hanoi before I get started though.

Viet Nam in general? That would take forever to answer. Even longer than it would take to find which hotel Norm is at at the time.
OP: You have still not told us why you want to know. Touting and spamming is not allowed on this branch

Really guys - simmer down. Everyone jumps merrily in and castigates the Vietnamese when new figures are released that show how few tourists return to VN for second or further visits. Now along comes someone who asks what we are interested in when visiting Hanoi in particular or VN in general. Might make a difference to future visitors. But immediately s/he is slammed as a tout or a potential tout. Poor Vietnamese - doesn't matter what they do we are quick to slam them. Damned if they do and .......OP personally I prefer historical sights and museums and galleries associated with them. I have been to all the major sights in Hanoi including to visit Uncle Ho's mausoleum and the Women's History museum plus wandering for hours through the old city. I travelled west from Hanoi to Son Lat and Dien Bien Phu and then north to SaPa. I found the ethnic minority people fascinating, particularly their clothing and headwear. I have been to Ha Long Bay twice but would not bother going again as I find the level of rubbish and littering too disgusting. In Hue I find the emperors' tombs much more interesting than their names suggest. Walking round Hoi An looking at the buildings that remain from the Japanese and Chinese presence in that port is also very interesting - forget the so-called tailors there. Mui Ne, Cu Chi tunnels, Vung Tau, boat and bus trips through the Mekong delta, ferry to Phu Quoc, walking round HCMC have all afforded me enjoyable times.
There - that wasn't too hard, was it?
