Fav beaches and yoga question
I am at the beginning stages of planning a 2 week trip to northern Columbia in March. Any advice on favorite beaches? Are there any yoga retreat centres? Looking for a relaxing and cultural experience. I'd love any 'must see / do' advice on northern Columbia! Thanks!Edited by: alanahogg

The beaches of Tayrona are a gem. But if you prefer calm places over noisy crowds, you'd better avoid the week before Easter: Colombians travel increasingly in their country on week-ends and public holidays, and Tayrona can get uncomfortably crowded.Around Cartagena, the beaches of Islas del Rosario are quite nice too, though more pricey.
The island of Providencia is a real paradise, but it's a long way from continental Colombia.
And please, the country is spelled Colombia, with a O!

An alternative for "Northern Colombia" is Capuganá. My favorite there is Almar Resort but it is not cheap! A package to Isla Providencia, my other favorite is actually cheaper.
