Phu Quy ?

Hi everyone -

my husband and I are traveling to Vietnam in about a month and planning to go to the Mui Ne area for kitesurfing. We just learned about Phu Quy and haven't been able to find much info on it. Anyone have any info about the ferry (Ive heard of a fast and slow ferry)? Accommodations on the island? I read that there are a couple of guesthouses / few or no hotels. Any information y'all have would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

In Mui Ne avoid the expensive rip off kitesurfing scams.

I suppose it is Phu Quoc NOT "Phu Quy". Phu Quoc is the best destination for beach lovers in Vietnam. For safety and time saving, you should choose the express ferry from Rach Gia. You can also fly to Phu Quoc from HCMC and Hanoi. Accommodations are plentiful.

No, Phu Quy is a small island way off the coast of Mui Ne.

are there other ways to get to phu quoc other then flying from hanoi or hmc? I meant by air? as I was planning on heading out of HMC to go to Nga Trang, Dalat, mui nei (gonna ride a motorbike & do the trainagle i hear its beautiful)and maybe CAT Tien nationalpark, & hoi ann before heading back down south to pho quoc island.

and if you go via ferry from rach gia is it easy enough to get to there by bus, either local bus or open tour bus?

helpmuch appreciated :O)

Hi there,
I have come to Muine for kitesurfing with my own gear and stuff. my main goal was to reach that small island. However i have found that this island is closed for tourism at the moment because of some conflict with China. It's a bit shitty situation, but you can find a lot of good stuff around Muine, just rent a bike and go anywhere...
have fun
peace

Once again avoid the overpriced kitesurfing ripoffs.
